About the Monthly Mystery Mini Box

The story behind the Monthly Mystery Mini Box development is a kind of long one.  If you've been here a while and remember the "overshare" I've published in the past, you know I am emotional!  🙃

There have been many twists and turns for me since I started the business in 2018, through Covid and the consolidation of suppliers, shipping dramas, tariffs- it goes on and on!

Over the years of learning and growth, I have spent most of my working hours managing the moving parts of the business. While I have found it very satisfying and all consuming, I have come to a place of burnout, for sure.  There is no creativity in my day and no personal interaction really, at all.  

A big challenge I have faced since the start, is that I am not a perfume expert, just a fan. I did not create any of these perfumes. I sell the creations of other people and benefit from the recognizable names, made by others.  This makes me kind of embarrassed if I am being honest.  I am the salesperson of another creator's work. I have often felt like an imposter.

This has always felt a little off center for me.  It's honest work, for sure, and I'm proud of the business that I have built and how much I have done as a middle-aged woman who didn't understand how to send a business email when I started.  

This subscription box was born out of talking about these issues with a mentor.  The funny need to distance myself emotionally in a way, because feeling like a sales person and not the creator is counter productive and very limiting. I need a change!

I have been creating blends and really enjoying the process. The decision to lean into being creative has inspired me.  The mini rollerballs feel like the perfect way to share them, organizing them into themes for a monthly box is fun.
